With its free placement platform, quitt also offers refugees the chance to find fairly paid legal work in private households. Those who hire refugees through quitt will benefit: quitt will waive the annual fee on the popular “Comfort” rate for new employers of refugees in 2022.

That’s what it’s about

  • Ukrainian refugees with an S permit are allowed to work in Switzerland without a waiting period.
  • At http://cowydaxe.cyon.site/en/find-domestic-help, employers can find domestic helpers throughout Switzerland. Employers can now also deliberately search for people with refugee status.
  • quitt.Employers receive the annual fee for the “Comfort” tariff for free if they employ refugees in private households with the help of quitt.

Thousands of Ukrainian refugees have been streaming into Switzerland, finding safety and shelter here. Thanks to the S permit (“persons in need of protection”), they are entitled to “temporary” residence in Switzerland and are also allowed to work without a waiting period. Refugees with little language skills who are willing to work have a chance to find employment in private households in Switzerland.

Free placement platform for domestic help
To make it easier for Ukrainian refugees to find jobs in private households, quitt has translated the job placement platform at http://cowydaxe.cyon.site/en/for-employees-safe-legal-and-fair into several languages. On this website, jobseekers can register free of charge in their preferred language and present themselves to employers with an anonymous profile.

Free placement platform for domestic help
Employers who are looking for domestic help in the areas of care for the elderly and children, gardening or cleaning can search for domestic help in their area free of charge. People with refugee status are now highlighted and prominently displayed in the search results with two protective hands. This function serves all domestic helpers with refugee status registered with quitt.

Win-win situation for employers and refugees
To motivate employers to employ refugees legally and fairly with the help of quitt, quitt is waiving the fee on the popular quitt.tariff “Comfort” for new and existing customers in 2022. What many private employers do not know: At the beginning of 2011, the federal government issued the “Normalarbeitsvertrag (NAV) Hauswirtschaft” (“standard employment contract”). The contract sets binding minimum wages for domestic workers throughout Switzerland. The current NAV is in force until 31 December 2022 and applies to cleaning staff and people who cook, look after children or do laundry. Of course, the minimum wages also apply to refugees. quitt managing director Marie-Christin Kamann says: “On average, the private employers registered with quitt pay their domestic workers wages that are significantly above the low minimum wages.” Open questions on the topic: “What needs to be considered with regard to domestic workers from Ukraine with “S” status?” You will find answers in our FAQ.
